Time Axis Technologies — Humanitarian Rat Trap

This was mailed at random to people selected from phone books and also to a few people I knew. It was sent in an envelope with a return address of ‘Time Axis Technologies’ with a snappy logo.

Warning: this flyer is very offensive. It addresses concerns I have about the whole idea of cloning. The point of view of the flyer is as if it is very pro-cloning. It takes the argument that cloning is OK to it’s logical conclusion — a complete devaluing of human life. I explain my point of view here since a lot of people tend to get offended when I make these kind of arguments because they think the argument I am making in favor of cloning means I am in favor of cloning. I am not. It is the opposite. I am trying to make a point, like Jonathan Swift did in “A Modest Proposal.” But I guess people don’t read stuff like that in school anymore. Swift proposed that the “Irish” problem (too many Irish people in England which bothered many English since they hated the Irish, thinking they were not human. Sound familiar?) could be easily solved. He put forth his ‘modest’ final solution — that Irish people be raised in breeder programs and then the children could be used as a cheap source of food — the English people would eat the Irish children. Swift did not really think the English should eat Irish children. He was just pointing out the logical conclusion of looking down at a class of people and declaring them sub-human. It’s not a good idea.

I put stacks of this flyer in coffee shop literature racks. They tended to go pretty quickly.

Have You Seen This Man?

I put this one up on mailboxes and under wiper blades in parking lots. Pretty self-explanatory.

A couple years after I slipped a few of these onto cars parked at the San Jose Convention Center, I saw a story on the national news that someone was distributing thousands of copies of these things in the Bay Area.
